Weather: hail/rain you name it!
Right... so I'm sitting in Northlands mall enjoying my yoghurt berry muffin (SOOO GOOD!) and my moccachino (again SOOO GOOD!) and I'm indulging in my favourite pasttime of watching people.
Now my first 'spot' of the day is a normal looking lady... aged in her late 40's maybe... and she's standing in line at McDonalds. Nothing out of the ordinary about this situation so far? suddenly my eyes are drawn downwards to her footwear! OMG she's wearing GUMBOOTS! and as if that isn't bad enough... her threadbare trackpants are tucked into said navy blue gumboots!!
Now I was fascinated by this woman.
I mean she had the guts to go to a popular mall on a wet Sunday arvo, when no doubt it would be (and was) packed with an adolescent explosion of ugh boots (never has a name of footwear been so fitting!), poofed hair and fashion statements galore!
This woman was a legend! Of course I had to share the joy and text numerous friend-type people.... the replies I got were as follows:
1. Did she look like she was homeless? Rofl
2. Lol well it is wet!! I hope you weren't walking past a mirror!
3. As if.. she was copying me.. oh... I mean... um... ;)
Crackup! (Just to clear up #2 I was not walking past a mirror!)
Yeah so that was my first bit of excitement.... my second was to follow approx 5mins later when I glanced up from my almost demolished muffin to see Adam Sandler walking in my general direction!
Ok so maybe it wasn't the same Adam Sandler famous for keeping me in hysterics with such films as Happy Gilmore, The Wedding Singer, Waterboy... and his latest instalment which I have yet to see Don't Mess With The Zohan! but this guy was a spitting image of the comedian I tell ya!
Ok next thing I noticed was that some people get REALLY dressed up to go to the mall! Granted most of these people were under the age of 20 but it was still fascinating to see the lengths people go to before 'hanging out' at the mall with their buddies....
I mean as a girl I know how long it can take to do your hair if it's really long and stuff so I was amazed to see girls walk past with their long blonde hair all curled to perfection and makeup just so! Granted I don't normally leave the house without makeup on but these girls had the whole shebang going on.
Most likely out to impress their male counter-parts who I have to admit seemed to put in just as much effort in they styleage.... spikey do's gelled to perfection, pants clinging as if by magic to non-existent bums haha.
Ah well that is my rant for the day.... just wanted to share the love... and laughter! :D
